About Navodaya Vidyalaya Examination (JNVST)

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya is a network of centrally-run schools spread across India, managed by the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The schools exist to provide quality, free residential education to talented students — especially those from rural backgrounds. Admission to Class 6 is done through the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST), an offline objective exam.

Because the exam pattern has stayed consistent for years, solving previous year papers is the most reliable way to understand how the real test is set — and to build confidence before exam day.

Pattern of Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST)

The Class 6 selection test is an offline, pen-and-paper exam of 2 hours with an OMR answer sheet. There is no negative marking, so you should attempt every question.

Total: 80 questions • 100 marks • 2 hours. Only a blue or black ballpoint pen is allowed on the OMR answer sheet. Divyang (differently-abled) candidates receive 40 minutes of extra time.

Mental Ability Test
